Wife
Constance is strong where I struggle and vice versa. I appreciate her willingness to actively support me in anything I strive to do for the Lord. She is proof once again that God knows exactly what he is doing. He has blessed me way beyond my own hopes and I thank Him for such a good thing (Proverbs 18:22).
Children
My daughter's are blessing's from God. While they are not perfect, I thoroughly enjoy watching them grow in all areas of their lives. I contribute their success to having a great dad (LOL)!!! Camisha is a Texas Tech graduate and a RN at Cook Children's Hospital. Anitiala' is a student, studying to be a teacher, at Stephen F. Austin. The most important thing is that they are Christian young ladies, trying to get it right.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Psychology from East Texas State University. Masters Degree in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Licensed Professional Counselor
Hope and Vision for Mountain View
That we will never stop thirsting for knowledge of God's word or seeking spiritual maturity. That we will all love each other, no matter what our differences, just like families are supposed to.
How You Got Involved with Mountain View
Came to the Overton Road (now Mountain View) congregation, 19 years ago, because of a strong and familiar relationship I have had with the Chappell family since I was 5 years old. I was taken in as family by many members, put to work, and never left.
Wisdom/Bit of Advice/Quote
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:3-8).
Humility is greater than pride, independence, and most other character traits that the world deems important.
A Few of My Favorite Things
A good movie, a good time with family and friends, basketball and football, children, and counseling people through their life challenges.
A Favorite Saying or Scripture
Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7).
That's not only a warning. It's also a promise to the sower of good things. Only you and God know which one it is for you.
