Michael Clayton, Assistant Minister

  • Hope and Vision for Mountain View: My hope and vision for Mountain View is: that Mountain View would become an Oasis and refuge in the community for lost souls ; for battered and hurting people that have been locked out and over looked.
  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: I was looking for a place to worship that allowed true worship to take place during the worship service, where one could express their love and thanks to God and our savior Jesus Christ without hindrance and prejudice of others.
  • Wisdom/Bit of Advice/Quote: No man is an island. We all need each other. We are all tide together to a single garment of destiny, I can't be who I am supposed to be until you are who you supposed to be. My success is found in helping others, achieve their personal goals thru their growth and development.

Maurice Jones, Assistant Minister

  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: J.K. challenged me because he knew I wasn't involved where I was attending and he asked me to attend and I was simply blown away and have remained ever since.

  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: My wife and I were attracted to Mountain Views welcoming atmosphere of Love and Grace.

David Andrews

  • Hope and Vision for Mountain View: To be a congregation known for doing Gods work. To pray first and then help those in need, and to always remember that nothing is impossible with God.
  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: I was going through a strom in my life and Mountain View was a safe port. My family and I docked here and found that this is where we belonged.
  • Wisdom/Bit of Advice/Quote: WISDOM Listen more. Talk less. Just because you got the last word in, doesn't mean you got the last word. BIT of ADVICE Always cut from you, never cut to you. QUOTE ..For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.
  • A Few of My Favorite Things: Spending time with family and friends. A good sermon. Listening to the award winning Mountian View Chorus. Helping someone in need. Seeing our children do well. A good steak.

Willie Beal, Jr.

  • Hope & Vision for Mt View: To continue to save souls, secure the saved, strengthen the community and serve the Lord.
  • How You Got Involved with Mt View: My family moved our membership to Overton Rd in 1970. Our growth to over 250 members led us to look for a new site. We moved to 4111 W Illinois and became the Mt View church. I have been one of the leaders (Deacon and then Elder) since the late 1980s.
  • Wisdom/Bit of Advice/Quote: Matthew 16:24-26, Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lost it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul.
  • A Few of My Favorite Things: Working with older children, reading, watching movies and spending time with my wife, relatives and church members.

Elvin Bell

  • How you got involved with Mountain View: I was baptized at the old Easter View building during the Dallas City Wide Tent Meeting. Bro W.F. Washington was preaching, and Bro. Verleson Wesley was my teacher.

Will Paul Brown

  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: My involvement began at the Southside Church of Christ in the early 1960s with the encouragement of Bro. Sheffield, from praying in service, communion ministry and teaching; which eventually led to more ministry work during our tenure with the Easterview/Overton Road now Mountain View congregation, that included but was not limited to personal bible study, preaching, counseling, bus ministry, homeless ministry, benevolence, jail ministry and performing marriages to this day until my recent illness.
  • Wisdom/Bit of Advice/Quote: Isaiah 2:2-3 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in this paths: for out of Zion shall go forth e the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Arthur Carr

  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: We attended Easter View which later became Mountain View.
  • Wisdom/Bit of Advice/Quote: Never say never. Make changes if necessary. Always admit when you're wrong.

George Davis

  • Hope and Vision for Mountain View: It is my hope and vision that Mt. View Church of Christ grow and serve all people.
  • How you got involved with Mountain View: My wife wanted us to go and visit as a family. So, over 30 years we began attending Easter View (now Mt. View) and have been with this congregation since.

Vincent Riles

  • Wife: Constance is strong where I struggle and vice versa. I appreciate her willingness to actively support me in anything I strive to do for the Lord. She is proof once again that God knows exactly what he is doing. He has blessed me way beyond my own hopes and I thank Him for such a good thing (Proverbs 18:22).
  • Children: My daughter's are blessing's from God. While they are not perfect, I thoroughly enjoy watching them grow in all areas of their lives. I contribute their success to having a great dad (LOL)!!! Camisha is a Texas Tech graduate and a RN at Cook Children's Hospital. Anitiala' is a student, studying to be a teacher, at Stephen F. Austin. The most important thing is that they are Christian young ladies, trying to get it right.
  • Hope and Vision for Mountain View: That we will never stop thirsting for knowledge of God's word or seeking spiritual maturity. That we will all love each other, no matter what our differences, just like families are supposed to.
  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: Came to the Overton Road (now Mountain View) congregation, 19 years ago, because of a strong and familiar relationship I have had with the Chappell family since I was 5 years old. I was taken in as family by many members, put to work, and never left.
  • Wisdom/Bit of Advice/Quote: 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:3-8). Humility is greater than pride, independence, and most other character traits that the world deems important.
  • A Few of My Favorite Things: A good movie, a good time with family and friends, basketball and football, children, and counseling people through their life challenges.

  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: We were looking for a place where the kids could be involved with an active youth group, and after several visits we made the decision.

Darwin Brown

  • Hope and Vision for Mountain View: I hope that we can become a congregation that will support itself in a way that allows us to step out more on faith, because we know we have the members that will go above and beyond their normal roles of being a Christian.
  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: I started out ushering and working small youth projects. I then began to teach and be involved with more ministries.

  • Hope and Vision for Mountain View: Hope- Mountain View Church of Christ can be all that it can be in the sight of the Lord. Vision- That (Mountain View) can continue to grow and mature spiritually, and that we can be a church that is known not only in the brotherhood but (throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex) for our involvement and good works.
  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: I have always known about the Mountain View Church of Christ. My wife and I were longing for a church family where we could continue to grow spiritually and do God's work but more importantly where our young daughters could grow and be nurtured in God's word.

  • Hope and Vision for Mountain View: It is my hope that Mt. View is the light that God would have us to be in order to bring souls to Him. I envision Mt. View as a congregation meeting not just the spiritual needs of man but all of the physical as well.
  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: When we moved to Dallas in 2004, we started attending the congregation.

  • Hope and Vision for Mountain View: Perpetual growth of the Church in Spirit and Christian Love
  • How You Got Involved with Mountain View: We were seeking a church upon our early arrival to the Dallas area. We visited several congregations. We determined very soon that something was missing - perhaps error in the teaching. We visited the Mt. View congregation. Immediately after our visit, we decided it was the church we had been seeking. We have been members since 1982.
  • Wisdom/Bit of Advice/Quote: Stay firm in the Word of God: While men slept the tares entered in. Put on the whole armor of God in order to combat the fiery darts of the devil. Let the spirit of God lead us in Christian love.
  • A Few of My Favorite Things: Working with underprivileged youth in the community; helping those in need. Also enjoy hunting, fishing and travelling.
